April Hanig, LMFT, Founder/CEO

April Hanig is a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT). She founded New Leaf with the vision to build a specialized group practice that provides highly-effective therapy services for children and families in the desert community. April specializes in helping children, teens and adults overcome anxiety, panic attacks, perfectionism and other behavior patterns and overwhelming emotions that can get in the way of a joyful life. In addition to extensive experience and training in anxiety treatment, she has a special focus on early childhood issues, behavior problems, ADHD, grief, trauma, depression, cancer and chronic health issues. Gwen H. Washington, LCSW

Gwen Washington is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) providing counseling services for children, teens and adults. She supports clients seeking to heal from past experiences, work through stressful life transitions, navigate parenting challenges and child/teen issues, or improve family dynamics and relationships. Gwen specializes in helping families, including nontraditional, blended/step and foster/adoptive families, find better ways to connect with each other and the world around them. Linda Stephens, LMFT, RD

Linda Stephens is a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) and registered dietitian (RD) specializing in working with teens, adults and couples. She supports each of her clients in learning to love and respect themselves and the important people in their lives. Her areas of focus include relationship issues, life transitions, women’s issues, couples counseling, affair recovery, obesity/weight loss, disordered eating patterns, adoption, fertility issues, and family therapy. Additionally, she works with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, postpartum/perinatal mood disorders, LGBTQI issues, parenting challenges, trauma histories, HIV/AIDS issues, and codependency. Gail Baker, LMFT

Gail is a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. She specializes in the areas of anger management, communication skills, trauma and self-esteem issues. She also has an extensive background working with both children and adults with ADHD, depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety, among other challenges.
