April Hanig, LMFT (CEO / Clinical director)

April Hanig is a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist (LMFT). She founded New Leaf with the vision to build a specialized group practice that provides highly-effective therapy services for children, teens, adults, and families. April specializes in helping individuals overcome anxiety, panic attacks, perfectionism and other behavior patterns and overwhelming emotions that can get in the way of a joyful life. In addition to extensive experience and training in anxiety treatment, she has a special focus on early childhood issues, behavior problems, ADHD, grief, trauma, depression, cancer and chronic health issues. Gail Baker, LMFT

Gail is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. She specializes in the areas of anger management, communication skills, trauma and self-esteem issues. She also has an extensive background working with both children and adults with ADHD, depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety, among other challenges. Nathan Varvis, LMFT, cctp

Nathan is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) specializing in working with children, adolescents, and adults. He supports his clients in gaining understanding and insight into their struggles, by assisting them in identifying historical events and exploring how they are affecting them in the present. Additionally, he teaches clients effective tools for dealing with and managing current symptoms and difficulties so they can lead a happier, healthier life. He especially enjoys walking clients through anxiety, trauma, depression and adoption issues. In addition to seeing clients in office, he offers Telehealth services to those located in California. Sophie bain, lmft

Sophie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) specializing in working with children, adolescents, adults, families, adoptees, and prospective parents. Sophie believes in the mind body connection and through a combination of breath work, somatic psychotherapy and mindfulness she helps her clients overcome adversity and develop greater resilience, self-actualization and acceptance. She believes it is imperative to look at her clients as whole people, impacted by the systems surrounding them and provide them with a safe space to discover their innate tools to become more embodied, connected and whole. Scarlett Regalado Sellers, AMFT

Scarlett is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) under the supervision of New Leaf’s Clinical Director. Scarlett has specialized experience working with children, tweens, teens and adults struggling with low self-esteem, school issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, behavioral concerns, and relationship challenges. Scarlett teams up with clients to help them identify their unique needs and motivations, and equips them with skills to express themselves more effectively. Scarlett focuses on empowering clients to tap into their inner ability to navigate all of life’s challenges and lead more fulfilling lives. She has a special passion for working with those who identify as survivors of trauma, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and people who are neurodivergent. Learn more about Scarlett here.

Gladys medina, amft

Gladys is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) working with children, teens, and adults to find greater enjoyment in their lives and their relationships. Gladys is bilingual in English/Spanish and is passionate about helping young people and families navigate stressful circumstances and learn healthier ways to overcome anxiety, depression, addiction, grief/loss, behavioral issues, social challenges, and relationship struggles, among other issues that youth and adults face in today’s world. She has extensive experience working with teens to find healthy ways to manage their emotions and behaviors, as well as those with learning differences and family challenges. Jennifer Villalobos — Client Care Coordinator

As a healthcare administrator, Jennifer is dedicated to coordinating the highest quality of care between patients and providers. She holds a Bachelors’ degree in Communications and previously worked as a Foreign Language teacher and trainer. Jennifer is bilingual (English/Spanish) and has extensive experience managing health records and appointment scheduling for several private practices.
